As a radio producer and reporter, I have been responsible for getting finished music and talk programs to air which includes script writing to final editing.

Areas include:

Creating the initial concept for the program. The concept includes the program’s length and format, theme, target audience, time of day it will air, and who will feature in the program.

Co-ordinate with others to make sure a project comes together on time and on budget. Casting on-air talent and booking guests for the program.

Record and edit a program often with an engineer if it is to be broadcast on air later. For a live program, the producer is on hand to make sure the program flows smoothly as planned, starts and finishes on time and takes breaks as needed.
